Size:  No smaller than 72" perimeter (18"x18")
No larger than 160" perimeter (40"x40")
(A table runner - 18"x36" = 108")

Due date: May 2012 guild meeting

Your quilt should say something about the STATE where YOU were born.

It could be based on the state flower, a landmark, state colors, your favorite picture of somewhere in the state, the house where you were born, etc.  Use your imagination - this does not mean that it has to be a landscape or photo type quilt - just something about your birth state that inspires or speaks to you.

"Take 2"
Quilt Challenges

DEADLINE - FEBRUARY 28, 2013

"Now Showing"

Our challenge to you is to share your love of a movie or movies, past or present, or express your take on the "movie experience" in a quilt.  Let your imagination go and have fun making a quilt that will give the quilt show goers a good time, too.

QUILT RULES

1.   Quilts must be 40"x40".
2.   Top to be pieced or whole cloth with decorative technique (applique, thread painting, crayons, fabric paints, etc.).
3.   Embellishments are encouraged (buttons, beads, charms, crystals, embroidery, thread painting, fabric paint, crayons, trims, etc.).
4.   Hand or machine quilted or a combination of the two.
5.   A statement of 150 words or less must accompany the entry - explaining the quilt.
6.   Group entries are welcome.

"A Tale of Two Fabrics"

This challenge is for all quilters, from beginner to master.  Part of the challenge is choosing the "right" block or blocks that will best showcase your TWO FABRICS.   Often quilts of just two fabrics are outstanding because they showcase the quilting.

QUILT RULES

CATEGORIES: SMALL - Up to 40"x40" and not to exceed a 160" perimeter.
MEDIUM - 41"x41" to 70"x70" and not to exceed a 280" perimeter.
LARGE - 71"x71" to 90"x90" and not to exceed a 360" perimeter.

1.   Only two fabrics in their original state can be used (no dying, overdying, staining, etc.) for the quilt top, backing and binding.
*Note:  Purchased bias tape and fabric trims will be considered a fabric.
2.   Fabrics used MUST appear in their "natural uncut state" somewhere on the quilt so the two fabrics are identifiable.
3.   The quilt top can be pieced or appliqued by hand or machine or a combination of the two.
4.   The quilt can be embellished with buttons, beads, crystals, embroidery thread but NO FABRIC TRIMS.
5.   Hand or machine quilted or a combination of the two.
6.   A statement of 150 words or less must accompany the entry - explaining the quilt.
7.   Group entries are welcome.

** Quilts in both challenges must have a 4" sleeve attached to the top back and a label on the lower right corner of the back.
