COQG INFORMATION

COQG was the dream of Betty Jo Haines, founder and first president. Our first meeting was held in April 1980, with 30 present, and we currently maintain a membership of over 400. We would love to have you join us!
COQG’s purpose is to stimulate an interest in quilts, to promote and advance the art of quiltmaking, to conduct educational programs and services in all aspects of quiltmaking, and to help preserve our quilt heritage and traditions.
COQG schedules a variety of workshops and educational programs covering a wide range of quilting topics for the membership. The guild publishes a monthly newsletter with information on upcoming programs and special events, Block of the Month, and other information. COQG maintains a well stocked library for members’ use. The guild offers Grant monies to persons pursuing research on quilt related subjects, such as cloth, patterns, antique quilts, etc.
The monthly meetings include announcements, member Show and Share, door prizes (donated from members and the monthly vendors), quilt related programs from local and national teachers, a Ways and Means table to purchase COQG cookbooks and pins, Kansas City Star Volumes, magazines, etc., an extensive Library, Heartwarmers charity project quilts, and vendors from Oklahoma quilt shops.
Guild meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of each month, 10 am and 7 pm, (except November and December, which meet on the third Thursday). May and December are joint meetings and begin at 6 pm. All meetings are held at St. John's Methodist Church, 1755 N. Meridian Ave., Oklahoma City, OK.
